This is a really nice blog. I have a health resolution this year. This is not so much as to lose the weight and look good--but to feel good about myself and be able to enjoy time with my young kids. I shunning off going to the gym--for economic reasons. But also because I want to get fit the "natural" way.

It's funny that you mentioned you loved walking around your community. I love going around our neighborhood and cycling. But I haven't ridden my bike in years. I recently discovered it in the garage (here's what it looks like: http://schwinnusa.com/allschwinn_3403201_B0021I150I_Schwinn-Coronado-Womens-Comfort-Bike-26-Inch-Wheels.html--this is of course the newer, shinier version. Mine is a little aged). I remembered all those nice "me" times I had with it, and perhaps this year, that's what I'll do and see the world with a little more optimism--remembering how I was a few years ago.
